Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Islamabad Matriculation 2020 results to be
announced on Monday, July 20
Lahore (Urdu Point News Latest - APP. July 17, 2020) The Department of Communication, Okara
University has organized an online condolence reference to pay tribute to Dr. Maghisuddin Sheikh, a
renowned Journalism and Communication Professor who passed away last month. Vice Chancellor Prof.
Dr. Muhammad Zakaria Zakir presided over the function while Dr. Zahid Bilal, Head of the Department of
Communication, hosted the function. In this reference, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nizamuddin, former Head of
the Punjab Higher Education Commission, Department of Communication, University of the Punjab. Prof.
Dr. Bushra Rehman, renowned anchor Muhammad Junaid and columnist Salman Abid from all over the
country participated in the field of journalism and teaching personalities including Dr. Owais Saleem,
Emad Khaliq, Abid Hussain Sialvi, Dr. AR Sajid, Dr. Hamid Mukhtar. Abdul Rashid, Dr. Sobia Abid and
Ahmad Raza.
Paying homage to Prof. Zakaria Nimrhom, he said that Dr. Maghis was a renowned teacher and
educational administrator of the country. He not only played an important role in establishing institutions
for modern journalism education in the country but also demonstrated his research at the international
level and represented Pakistan. Prof. Nizamuddin said that Dr. Maghis believed in innovation and he set
up several institutes for journalism and communication education in the country. Dr. Maghis served as
the Director of the Department of Communication at the University of the Punjab and introduced modern
techniques in the field of journalism. He passed away on June 25 after being infected with the
coronavirus.
